$950,000 Colt for Uncle Mo at OBS March
An Uncle Mo colt offered by Hartley DeRenzo Thoroughbreds was the second most expensive offering of the second session of the OBS March Two-Year-Olds In Training Sale on Monday, topped only by a $1.2 million Justify colt.
Purchased by Bill and Corinne Heiligbrodt and Jackpot Farm for $950,000, the Aaron Sones-bred was a $360,000 weanling purchase at Keeneland November in 2021. Bred on the potent Uncle Mo x Bernardini mare cross, the colt is the first foal out of a daughter of champion Storm Song, who also produced Grade I placed Trojan Nation and Grade II placed Balladry.
Another one of Storm Song’s daughters is the dam of multiple Grade I winner and Coolmore National Hunt sire Order of St George.
Uncle Mo is in the midst of a banner year, sitting second on the General Sires list with six stakes winners with his one Grade I winner also the best of all stallions.
