A Mo Reay (Uncle Mo) Wins Pago Hop Stakes at Fair Grounds

A Mo Reay Wins Pago Hop in Season Finale

Grade I-placed A Mo Reay (3f Uncle Mo x Margaret Reay, by Pioneerof the Nile) added a stakes win to her record on Saturday with a victory in the Listed Pago Hop Stakes at Fair Grounds.

Brushing with a rival at the start of the one-mile dirt race, A Mo Reay took her spot near the back of the field with two horses beat as she raced two wide around the track. Florent Geroux started maneuvering her closer as they made their way toward the far turn when she started her chasing in earnest.

Turning into the stretch in full flight, she was able to catch the leader in midstretch before pulling off to a three length win as the favorite.

A $400,000 yearling purchase in 2020 and $400,000 Fasig-Tipton November purchase in 2022, A Mo Reay races for Hunter Valley Farm. Bred by T & G Farm of Kentucky, she’s won three of 10 starts with four other top three finishes for $235,025 in earnings.

A Mo Reay is out of Grade III-placed Margaret Reay, a half-sister to stakes winner Lezendary. Also in the family is Grade I winner Wonder Lady Anne L.

A Mo Reay is one of 14 2022 stakes winners for Uncle Mo, third best of all North American sires. His 40 stakes performers in 2022 is second among the group with nearly 200 runners less than the top sire.
