Adare Manor Romps in G1 Apple Blossom
Adare Manor (5m Uncle Mo x Brooklynsway, by Giant Gizmo) visited a Grade I winner’s circle for the second time on Saturday when she won the Grade I Apple Blossom at Oaklawn Park.
It was easy sailing for Uncle Mo’s daughter in the 1 1/16-mile race from the time the gate open. Second out of the gate, she quickly assumed the lead and relaxed under Juan Hernandez as they galloped around the track.
Hernandez let her pick up the pace in the far turn and she bolted away from the field soon after. Her jockey gave her a few taps to keep her focused, but there was no serious threat with the mare winning by 5 ½ lengths.
Trained by Bob Baffert for Michael Lund Petersen, she has won eight of 16 starts with five other top three finishes for $1,736,600 in earnings. The Apple Blossom was the sixth graded stakes win for her with Adare Manor winning a stakes every season from 2022 to 2024.
Bred by Town and Country Horse Farms and Gary Broad, Adare Manor is one of two foals out of the Grade III winner Brooklynsway. Brooklynsway is one of two stakes producers out of Explosive Story with another half-sister producing two stakes performances.
Brooklynsway had an Uncle Mo colt last year as well.
Adare Manor is the third stakes winner of the year for Uncle Mo, whose 10 stakes performers include three Grade I horses – putting him second among all North American sires in that category.
