Alpha Bella Latest Graded Stakes Star For Justify
Alpha Bella (4f Justify x Andina, by Singspiel) continued a big week for her sire on Saturday with a first stakes victory in the Grade III La Prevoyante Stakes on Saturday.
A multiple graded stakes placed filly before the race, the Todd Pletcher runner made sure she wasn’t going to be denied the win in this race. Quick out of the gate, she immediately went to the lead in the 1 ½ mile turf event and handled consistent pressure from a rival well.
Luis Saez moved his mount to the three-path turning into the stretch and she was put to work to keep control of the race. It wasn’t an easy battle but she had a three quarter length advantage in the end to earn her eighth top three placing in 13 starts.
Bred by Don Alberto Stable, Alpha Bella is the third graded stakes winner out of the stakes winning Andina, who has six winners from six to race. That mare is also the dam of Chilean champion Australia Mia and Grade III winner Anadina Del Sur as well.
Alpha Bella’s first three dams have all produced stakes winners with her fourth producing a stakes performer as well.
Andina has a 3-year-old Uncle Mo filly named Mo Fina as well.
Justify had another spectacular week with three of his juveniles named 2023 champions in both the U.S. and Europe. The stallion’s two graded stakes performers in 2024 lead all North American stallions as well.
