Another Dazzling Win for Princess of Sylmar
Exciting filly Princess of Sylmar (3f Majestic Warrior x Storm Dixie, by Catienus) posted another dazzling performance at the weekend to win the $98,000 Busher Stakes at Aqueduct in a breeze.
Prepared by Todd Pletcher, Princess of Sylmar left her rivals lamenting once again as she opened up a huge margin in the run to the wire, eventually taking the 1 and 1/16th mile event by more than seven lengths.
After finishing fourth on debut back on October 12, Princess of Sylmar has since reeled off four consecutive wins with a collective winning margin of some 38 plus lengths.
“She’s very amazing,” said winning rider Javier Castellano.
“She has a long, beautiful stride, but at the same time, when you ask her, she’s got a quick reaction.
“I moved kind of early because I felt the pace was too slow, and she finished unbelievable. I didn’t force her to go by the horse--I just asked her a little bit and she took off. I think she’ll run all day.”
A homebred for Ed Stanco, Princess of Sylmar is the first stakes-winner for her sire Majestic Warrior and the first winner for stakes-placed Storm Dixie, a half-sister to Grade III winner Rhythm Band.
Her next assignment is likely to be the Grade II Gazelle Stakes at Aqueduct on April 6.
