Australian Stakes-Winner for Lookin at Lucky
The Listed Tasmanian Oaks on Sunday at Launceston went the way of filly Chabaud (3f Lookin at Lucky x Rockadubai, by Fastnet Rock), a $170,000 Magic Millions purchase for Matchem Racing from the draft of Widden Stud.
Prepared by Robert Smerdon, Chabaud has been very consistent and came into her first Black Type assignment off a last start win at Moonee Valley over 2040 metres.
She proved her staying credentials when posting a three quarter length win in the 2100 metre staying test taking her overall record to three wins and four placings from nine starts with prizemoney topping $110,000.
Bred by Whakanui Stud, Chabaud is the first winner for stakes-placed Rockadubai, a three-quarter sister-in-blood by Fastnet Rock to triple Group I winner Sea Siren.
Chabaud is the eighth stakes-winner worldwide for Champion US Two and Three Year Old Lookin at Lucky, who stood for just one season in Australia at Coolmore.
