Belmont Debut Winner for Uncle Mo
Promising colt Mo for the Money (2c Uncle Mo x Unenchantedevening, by Unbridled’s Song) belied a lack of interest from punters to score a tenacious debut win at Belmont on Wednesday.
The Anthony Dutrow trained Mo for the Money travelled just behind the leaders before taking over down the running and held off a strong challenge by the hot favourite Seymourdini to win the six furlong maiden by half a length.
A $225,000 Keeneland September Yearling purchase, Mo for the Money runs for Alex and Joann Leiblong and is a three-quarter brother to stakes-winner Indian Evening from a half-sister to US Horse of the Year and Champion 2YO Favorite Trick.
Mo for the Money is the 16th winner for Champion 2YO Uncle Mo, who is on target to be crowned Champion US First Crop Sire of 2015.
