Big Keeneland November On Tap For Jack Christopher
Jack Christopher is set to see his first weanlings hit the Keeneland ring this week with 34 entered to sell at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
His first through the ring is the first foal out of the stakes placed Laoban’s Legacy selling as Hip 228 with Taylor Made Sales.
Bred by Barry Fowler, Mark Taylor, Brad McNulty, Craig Irwin, and William Sparks, the filly was one of the first born for her sire this year when born on January 15. Her dam is one of five winners out of a Bernardini half-sister to the Grade III winner Storm Mesa and stakes winner She Be Classy with Storm Mesa also the granddam of a stakes performer.
The 13 stakes performers on the page include champion Doraon Hyeonpyro, Group II winner Powerful Breeze, and Group III winner Flora of Bermuda.
Stakes winner Stoweshoe is the dam of Hip 401, a filly consigned by Garrencasey Sales.
Bred by Doug and Felicia Branham, this filly is a half-sister to three winners from four to race out of the full sister to Grade I winner Taris. The earner of over $1 million, Taris is also the dam of Grade III winner and multiple Grade II placed King Fury.
Stoweshoe’s stakes winning half-sister Theatre Star also saw her Curlin daughter Ocean Club become a graded stakes winner after the catalog was released when she won the Grade III Noble Damsel. Ocean Club was already a two-time stakes winner and had multiple Grade II placings as well.
Knockgriffin Farm sends Hip 1305 through the ring with an update after their filly co-bred with Dr. Bill Baxter saw her half-brother Jerry The Nipper score two more stakes thirds after the catalog was released. That takes Jerry The Nipper to nine stakes placings, headlined by the Grade II Ft. Lauderdale Stakes.
Jerry The Nipper is one of three winners out of Grade III-placed Aqua Regia, who is out of a half-sister to stakes winner Double Glow. There are stakes performers under each of this filly’s first five dams with those named on the page led by Grade I winners Singing Susan and Is It True with nine stakes winners in all on the page.
Paramount Sales-offered Hip 1552 is a half-brother to the stakes winner Little Menace and one other winner from four to race out of Pay Attention.
Pay Attention was unplaced, but is a half-sister to Grade II winner and Grade I-placed Balance The Books and stakes placed Photo Shoot from her three winning siblings. This page gets stronger and stronger the more one looks at it with third dam Kooyonga a multiple European champion. Many of her daughters also produced stakes performers as well, including group winners Mondragon and Laurent.
A grandson of champion Catch The Ring sells through Indian Creek as Hip 1596.
The colt is out of the Tiznow mare Seize The Ring, who has produced three winners from three to race and saw her yearling sell for $475,000 in 2024. The mare is a half-sister to champion Catch The Thrill and three other stakes performers out of her illustrious dam, who produced seven winners in all. Catch The Thrill produced three different stakes performers herself while an unraced half-sister is the dam of stakes winner Checkered Past, who went on to produce Grade III winner Messier.
Indian Creek is also the consignor of Hip 1813, a colt out of a half-sister to Grade I winner Dunbar Road.
The colt is out of Curlin mare Fascinate, who has one winner from two to race. This is a strong family from top to bottom with Fascinate’s dam a Bernardini half-sister to multiple Grade II winner Private Mission and stakes winner Secret Someone in addition to stakes placed Profetiza.
This offering’s third dam is the stakes winning Private Gift, who not only is out of a stakes winning half-sister to a champion and a Group I winner but herself is a half-sister to Grade I winner Secret Status and multiple Grade III winner Alumni Hall.
