C. S. Royce Brings $550,000 In Foal to Uncle Mo
Visiting Uncle Mo in the breeding shed this year, impressive producer C. S. Royce was in demand when going through the ring at Fasig-Tipton’s November Sale in foal to the sire on Tuesday night, bringing $550,000 from Eaton Bloodstock for Forging Oaks Farm.
Consigned by Eaton Sales, the Unbridled’s Song mare was a two-time winner on the track but her biggest successes have come in the breeding shed where she has three stakes horses and four winners from four to race. The dam of Grade I Preakness Stakes second Cherry Wine from her first foal, the mare then produced two stakes winners including Grade III winner Sweeping Paddy.
The dam of an unraced 2-year-old Giant’s Causeway filly, C.S. Royce has a yearling Uncle Mo colt and is carrying to that stallion on a February 27 cover.
A leading sire on the track, Uncle Mo had a big night at Fasig-Tipton with his daughter Mopotism bringing $1.05 million and a weanling filly by the stallion being the second most expensive of the session when sold for $700,000.
