Canadian Stakes-Winner for Footsteps

Now trained in the US by Michael Matz after starting her career in France, talented mare Minakshi (5m Footstepsinthesand x Maria de la Luz, by Machiavellian) posted her fist Black Type success in the Grade II Canadian Stakes at Woodbine on the weekend.

She finished strongly to win the 1 and 1/18th mile event on turf by half a length earning a free pass to the Grade I Breeders Cup Filly and Mare Turf later this year.

Minakshi has the overall record of five wins and five placings from 18 starts and is the best of five winners from stakes-placed Maria de la Luz, a half-sister to the dam of Australian Grade I winner Arapaho Miss.

Minakshi is the 26th stakes-winner for Footstepsinthesand.
