Lookin at Lucky just missed Grade I success in North America when Lookin at Lee (3c Lookin at Lucky x Langara Lass, by Langfuhr) finished second in the Grade I Kentucky Derby, but made amends in South America where Kurilov (3c Lookin at Lucky x Kossanova, by Fly So Free) took out the Grade I Gran Premio Hipodromo Chile last Friday.
Trained by Carlos Bagu, Kurilov ran away to win the 2200 metre test by five and a quarter lengths.
It was his sixth win from 11 starts, but first in a stakes race.
The colt is the latest stakes-winner for blue hen Kossanova, who has already left Grade I winners Kitcat, Kossimo and Knockout among her 10 winners.
Kurilov is the third Grade I winner for Champion Two and Three Year Old Colt Lookin at Lucky.
