Churchill Downs MSW Winner for Justify

It was winner number three for undefeated Triple Crown winner Justify on Friday when Clarkland Farm homebred Just Cindy (2f Justify x Jenda’s Agenda, by Proud Citizen) won by 2 ¼ lengths at Churchill Downs.

The 5 ½ furlong Maiden Special Weight saw the filly race keenly in midpack down the backstretch before finding herself all alone as the field split into two distinct groups. She didn’t stay alone for long, however, flying up to sit just behind the leaders around the turn.

Just Cindy took the lead just outside the final furlong and was given just a few more taps to win pulling away for trainer Eddie Kenneally.

Just Cindy is the first foal out of the stakes winning Jenda’s Agenda, a daughter of multiple graded stakes winner Just Jenda. Just Jenda is also the dam of Munnings’ stakes winning Miss Alacrity among her foal winners from four to race.

Hailing from the successful Fulbright Scholar family, Just Cindy also finds Uncle Mo’s champion and Grade I Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist and Grade I winner Sahara Sky on the page.

Justify’s three winners are second best of all North American freshmen stallions in 2022, just one behind the leader with three fewer runners.
