Classic Empire Duo Continue Top Session for Sire

A colt out of stakes placed Rever de Vous continued a top day for Classic Empire when selling as Hip 786 at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale for $185,000 followed shortly by a $105,000 filly.

Bred by Steven and Brandi Nicholson, the colt was consigned by Warrendale Sales and purchased by Enfuego Stables. He is a grandson of Grade III winner Dreaming Of Liz, whose is one of three stakes producers for her Grade I winning dam Silver Maiden.

Classic Empire’s next hip through the ring saw another six-figure weanling added to his resume when a filly out of Tensas Punch sold for $105,000 as Hip 871 to September Farm.

The filly was the second successful association Hunter Valley Farm has had with Champion Classic Empire today after purchasing his son out of Le Mi Geaux early in the session for $250,000. This time they were on the selling end when selling the homebred half-sister to stakes placed Dharmaster.

The filly is out of stakes winning Tensas punch, who is a half-sister to Grade III winner Harlan Punch and Giant’s Causeway’s Grade I Breeders’ Cup Turf runner up United.

It has been an outstanding session for Classic Empire’s first weanlings with all five going through the ring today selling for an average of $176,000 and median of $185,000.
