Debut Winner for Lucky

Talented filly Asia (3f Lookin at Lucky x One Hot Wish, by Bring the Heat) looked a bright prospect when scoring on debut at Gulfstream on the weekend for Wesley Ward. She jumped fast and was always in contention before forging clear to win the five furlong maiden on turf by half a length in a slick 56.76 seconds. A homebred for Ward, she is a half-sister to Grade I placed Pablo del Monte from the speedy winner One Hot Wish, who set a world record for 4 1/2 furlongs in her debut at Keeneland in 2007.
