Dizzy Bizu Gives Caravaggio French Winner
It was a fourth winner for Caravaggio on Tuesday when Dizzy Bizu (2f Caravaggio x Izzy Bizu, by Kodiac) won on debut at Chantilly.
The filly broke well in the five furlong turf race and was the leader nearly immediately with two rivals running close behind. Jockey Theo Bachelot sat chilly on the filly until the final furlong and a half when he asked her to step it up and only one horse was able to stay near her.
Dizzy Bizu had to dig in but in the end prevailed for owner-breeder Peter-David Savill.
Trained by Stephane Wattell, Dizzy Bizu is the first foal out of the stakes winner Izzy Bizu, who is a half-sister to German champion Donnerschlag and Group III-placed Super Fun. The family also includes New Zealand Group I winner Platinum Witness and multiple Australian group winner Zennista.
Izzy Bizu also has a yearling Gleneagles half-sister in the pipeline.
Caravaggio leads all North American freshman by number of winners – holding a two winner lead over the next closest stallion.
