Dizzy Bizu Leads Home Stakes 1st & 3rd for Caravaggio
Dizzy Bizu (2f Caravaggio x Izzy Bizu, by Kodiac) added a second stakes win to her resume on Thursday with a win in the Listed Criterium de Vitesse at Longchamp.
Going back to her most successful distance of five furlongs, Dizzy Bizu raced about three lengths off the leader in fourth for the earlier stages of the race until the running got serious.
The filly joined in to the three-way battle for the lead in the final sixteenth and got her nose in front just a few strides before the wire to win by a head with Caravaggio’s Elliptic just a length behind her in third.
Trained by S Wattel for P D Savill, the Oak Hill Stud-bred filly has finished in the top two in five of her seven starts with three victories and a pair of Group III seconds.
She is the first foal out of the stakes winning Izzu Bizu, who is a half-sister to multiple group winner Donnerschlag and out of the stakes-placed Dame Hester. The family has international stakes form throughout her pedigree with the page also including New Zealand Group I winner Platinum Witness.
Dizzy Bizu is one of four stakes winners and seven stakes performers for Caravaggio, whose first crop runners are led by Group I winner Tenebrism.
