Envoutante Leads Home Coolmore-Sired Exacta in Falls City
Uncle Mo’s Envoutante (3f Uncle Mo x Enchante, by Bluegrass Cat) led home a Coolmore-sired exacta on Thursday in the Grade II Falls City Stakes with Munnings’ Bonny South second.
Breaking strongly in the 1 1/8 mile race at Churchill Downs against elders, Envoutante took the lead almost immediately and controlled the pace throughout. As they raced into the far turn, Envoutante encountered a challenge but shrugged it off when they entered the stretch.
In only a matter of strides, Envoutante put thoughts of any challenge for the win out of her rivals’ heads as she romped away by six lengths over Bonny South with the rest of the field 3½ lengths behind the Munnings’ daughter.
It was the second straight graded stakes victory for the Kenny McPeek trainee after the Grade III Remington Park Oaks in September with the filly also finishing third in the Grade I Ashland Stakes. Owned by Walking L Thoroughbreds and Three Chimneys Farm, Envoutante was sold to her racing owners for $250,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in 2018 by Baccari Bloodstock.
Bred by Jumping Jack Racing, Envoutante is the first runner out of the multiple stakes placed Enchante. That mare is out of a half-sister to stakes winner Forty Nine Deeds with her granddam a full sister to the champion racehorse and sire Forty Niner and the granddam of multiple Grade II winner Sobre Action.
Enchante also has a yearling colt from Uncle Mo’s studmate and Champion 2-Year-Old Classic Empire’s first crop.
Envoutante continues a top year for Uncle Mo with the stallion’s 14 graded stakes winners and 26 stakes horses topping the General Sire List in 2020.
