Envoutante Strong in Churchill Allowance

Envoutante (3f Uncle Mo x Enchante, by Bluegrass Cat) returned to her winning ways on Friday when romping in an Allowance at Churchill Downs.

Racing over 1 1/16 miles on the dirt under a cloudy sky, the filly was happy to race near the back of the field with just two horses beat early on. With Jose Ortiz aboard for trainer Ken McPeek, Envoutante worked her way closer to the front as they neared the end of the backstretch before clicking into full gear in the turn.

Circling the field, Envoutante joined the duel for the lead at the top of the stretch but quickly ended the other horses' hopes in only a few strides. Pulling away from there, the filly secured her second win in her last three starts under a rigorous hand ride by 2 1/4 lengths as the rain started coming down at Churchill Downs.

Owned by Walking L Thoroughbreds and Three Chimneys Farm, Envoutante was a $250,000 Keeneland September purchase by the pair from Baccari Bloodstock. From the family of Champion Forty Niner and out of four-time Listed placed Enchante, the Jumping Jack Racing-bred is the only runner and winner for her dam, who was bred to Grade I Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf winner Mendelssohn.

One of the top young stallions in America, Uncle Mo is the sire of five graded stakes winners and 13 stakes horses in 2020 led by Grade 2 winners and Kentucky Derby contenders Modernist and King Guillermo.
