Exciting Debut Stakes-Winner for American Pharoah
The fortunes of Triple Crown hero American Pharoah continue to soar with Four Wheel Drive (2c American Pharoah x Funfair, by More Than Ready) winning the $100,000 Rosies’s Stakes at Colonial Downs on Saturday, while American Theorem (2c American Pharoah x Mighty Renee, by Maria’s Mon) scored an easy debut win at Del Mar.
Leading trainer Wesley Ward is no stranger to success with the offspring of American Pharoah having already won a Group III event in France with his high class colt Maven and he also puts the polish on Four Wheel Drive.
He tracked the leader and raced away in the straight to win the five and a half furlong sprint by more than three lengths in a dominant display.
A $525,000 Fasig Tipton Saratoga Yearling purchase, Four Wheel Drive is the second winner for stakes-winning More Than Ready mare Funfair.
Four Wheel Drive and American Theorem are the 11th and 12th winners for American Pharoah from just 33 starters.
