Exhausting Newest Stakes Winner for Lookin At Lucky
Exhausting (3c Lookin at Lucky x La Flor de Jazmin, by Scat Daddy) became the newest stakes winner for his sire on Wednesday with a victory in the Grade III Clasico Thompson Matthews in Chile.
The one-mile turf race saw Exhausting race in midpack as three horses took up spots a few lengths ahead of the rest of the field early on. Racing about four paths off the rail, the colt had plenty to do as they reached the stretch but joined with two other runners, was encouraged to gun for the front with just over a furlong left to go.
His head wasn’t in front until close to the end but that was all that mattered with Exhausting winning by half a length to add a graded stakes success to the Grade III placing already on his resume.
Bred by Haras Don Alberto, Exhausting races for Paola and is trained by Juan Baeza. The colt is a half-brother to multiple graded stakes winner Leblanc and out of a half-sister to Lookin At Lucky’s Grade I winner Tokerau and a full sister to Grade III placed Gran Villano.
The family also includes Lookin At Lucky’s Chilean champion El Picaro and Grade I winner Canita and Scat Daddy’s champion Cimalta in addition to Grade I winner El Farrero.
A dual champion himself, Lookin At Lucky is the sire of 73 stakes winners and 48 graded stakes winners with 141 stakes performers as well.
