Fancy Liquor (Lookin At Lucky) Winning Caesars Stakes

Fancy Liquor 57th Stakes Winner for Lookin At Lucky

Already a multiple graded stakes placed runner, Fancy Liquor (3c Lookin At Lucky x Brandys Secret, by Secret Romeo) broke through at the stakes level on Wednesday in the Listed Caesars Stakes at Indiana Grand.

Going off as the race favorite in the one-mile turf race, Fancy Liquor took the lead immediately and quickly shook off all challengers out of the gate. In the far turn, Fancy Liquor was again confronted by a rival with the race turning into a duel to the finish. Headed with a furlong to go, Fancy Liquor showed his determination to come back in the closing strides of the race and get his neck in front for the win.

Trained by Mike Maker for Sand Dollar Stable and co-breeder Skychai Racing, Fancy Liquor was also co-bred by Hot Pink Stable.

One of two winners from three runners for his 21-time winning dam Brandy’s Secret, he is also from the family of stakes winning Joy of Brandy.

Fancy Liquor is the sixth stakes winner of the year for his value sire Lookin At Lucky, who has 14 stakes horses among his 101 winners in 2020. The sire of last year’s Grade I Kentucky Derby winner, Lookin At Lucky has 57 career stakes winners and 35 graded stakes winners in five different countries, led by 13 Grade or Group I winners
