First Mares In Foal to Gunite Led by $375,000 Mare
A mare carrying a foal from Gunite’s first crop sold for $375,000 at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale to lead the way for the young stallion in his sale ring debut.
Purchased by Kamden Favorites from Harwell Farm, More Than Ready mare Yanira is carrying her first foal by the stallion after placing on the track. She has an exciting family behind her as a half-sister to Grade I winner Finnegans Wake and stakes winner Puca. Puca of course shows that the family is full of producing talent.
That Big Brown mare has three to race with the group comprised of Grade I Belmont Stakes and Grade I Haskell Stakes winner Dornoch and Grade I Kentucky Derby winner Mage and the multiple stakes placed Gunning. Yanira is out of the stakes placed Boat’s Ghost, who is one of three stakes performer out of her own dam.
Gunite also saw his mares sell for $200,000, $170,000, $150,000 through the first three books of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
