Forty Tales Wins Again
Progressive colt Forty Tales (3c Tale of the Cat x Forty Love, by Forty Niner) has been in hot form of late and posted his third straight Graded win when saluting in the Grade II Amsterdam Stakes at Saratoga.
The Todd Pletcher trained colt charged to the line from back in the field to take the six and a half furlong sprint by three parts of a length.
Forty Tales is building an imposing record with five wins and a second from seven starts and prizemoney nearing $580,000.
“He does his thing; he comes from off the pace and runs them down," Tristan Barry, assistant to trainer Todd Pletcher, commented.
“He seems comfortable doing that, and we're happy he likes it. Anytime you have a horse like that, you like to see a fast pace on the front end. When that happened, it set up for him.”
Raced by Perretti Racing Stable, Forty Tales was an $80,000 purchase from the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July Yearling Sale and is a full brother to stakes-placed Face the Cat and half-brother to stakes-winner Bear Character being one of six winners from Forty Love.
