Fourth Stakes Winner of Month for Justify
Justify daughter Rosie's Alibi (4f Justify x Essential Rose, by Bernardini) kept her win streak alive on Monday with a victory in the Princess of Sylmar Stakes.
Looking for her third straight win in the race, the MyRacehorse representative raced a few lengths behind the pace early when going one mile on the dirt until they reached the quarter pole. At that point, she was switched to the inside and made a serious bid for the win.
She had the lead inside the final furlong and edged away to win by three quarters of a length as the favorite.
Trained by Michael Trombetta, she has won three of her four starts this year and has four wins from nine career starts overall.
A $625,000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga purchase from Warrendale Sales by her racing owner, Rosie's Alibi was bred in Pennsylvania by Blackstone Farm.
This victory made her the third stakes winner out of Essential Rose, who has also produced dual Grade III winner and Grade II-placed Roses For Debra and stakes winner Rose’s Vision. Essential Rose is out of the Grade II winner Essential Edge, who herself is a granddaughter of bluehen broodmare and multiple Group II winner Flame of Tara.
Essential Rose has a juvenile filly by American Pharoah named Yesterday to come.
This was the fourth stakes winner of the month for Justify, who registered two of those on dirt and two on turf.
