Ikeisgreat (Munnings) Breaks Maiden At Gulfstream

Ikeisgreat Newest Winner For Munnings

Ikeisgreat (3c Munnings x She’ll Heir, by Wildcat Heir) broke his maiden in impressive style to kick off the Gulfstream Park card on Saturday.

Running over five furlongs on dirt in a Maiden Special Weight, the Kelsey Danner-trained colt broke a step slow but it worked to his advantage when he was able to settle in third behind a runaway leader. As the field navigated the turn in the short race, Jose Ortiz sent Ikeisgreat after the tiring pacesetter and the colt was more than happy to go. It didn’t take long for the Munnings son to take over the lead, taking the turn wide and pulling away in the stretch.

Ikeisgreat blitzed the field to win by eight as the second choice with plenty left if needed.

Owned by Loudmouth Racing, Ikeisgreat was bred by Buck Pond Farm and is out of Listed winning She’ll Heir. She’ll Heir has three winners from three to race, including Listed placed Vertrazzo.

Value sire Munnings has started 2020 off with a bang, siring 34 winners with eight stakes horses and five stakes winners including leading Grade I Kentucky Oaks hopes Finite and Venetian Harbor.
