Impressive Adare Manor Headlines Double for Uncle Mo

It was a Santa Anita double for Uncle Mo on Friday, headlined by his filly Adare Manor’s (3f Uncle Mo x Brooklynsway, by Giant Gizmo) romp in a Maiden Special Weight.

The Bob Baffert trainee blazed to the front of the field and always kept at least a length between herself and the rest of the field in the one mile race. The filly showed she was done playing around the turn when she started to lengthen her lead and had seven lengths on the field going into the final furlong. With John Velazquez just doing enough to keep her focused on her task, Adare Manor powered to a 12 length win with the third place runner 16 ¾ lengths behind her.

A $375,000 2-year-old purchase from Julie Davies by Donato Lanni for Michael Lund Petersen, Adare Manor was bred by Town and Country Horse Farm and Gary Broad.

She is the first foal out of the Grade III winning Brooklynsway, who also won five other stakes races and was Grade II-placed. Brooklynsway is out of a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Effie Trinket and four other winners.

One race before Adare Manor’s victory, Thrilling (4f Uncle Mo x Together, by Galileo) won her second straight race. The winner of three of six starts, Thrilling is out of the Grade I winner and multiple classic placed Together. A half-sister to Group I winner Jan Vermeer, Together has also produced two stakes performers.

Together has an unnamed two-year-old Justify colt, a yearling filly by the same stallion, and returned to him last year.
