Interstatedaydream (Classic Empire) winning at Belmont Park

Interstatedaydream Gives Classic Empire Belmont Winner

It was another debut winner for Classic Empire on Friday when Interstatedaydream (2f Classic Empire x Babcock, by Uncle Mo) won a Belmont Park Maiden Special Weight over 5 ½ furlongs on dirt.

Ridden by Joel Rosario, the filly raced in third just behind the leaders right out of the gate a few paths wide. As they raced around the turn, the filly moved up to join the duel for the lead and quickly was also joined by Miss Interpret.

Interstatedaydream showed how competitive she was when keeping that filly a head back at all times with the pair finishing five lengths ahead of the third placed horse.

Trained by Brad Cox for Flurry Racing Stables, Interstatedaydream was a $105,000 short yearling, a $130,000 September yearling, and a $175,000 OBS Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds In Training purchase by Flurry Racing Stables.

A half-sister to stakes-placed Emmeline, Interstatedaydream is out of Uncle Mo’s daughter Babcock. That mare is a half-sister to Canadian Horse of the Year Uncaptured and multiple stakes winner Dancing Raven with the family also including multiple Grade I winner Curalina.

Interstatedaydream is the fourth winner for Classic Empire, with all four of his winners coming at Churchill Downs or Belmont Park.

Three Ashford stallions sit in the top two among all freshmen by winners with Classic Empire tied with Practical Joke at four winners each in second, three winners behind stablemate Caravaggio.
