Into Classic Wins Again for Classic Empire
Into Classic (2f Classic Empire x Mischievous Misty, by Into Mischief) added a second win to her four start resume on Sunday with a victory at Los Alamitos.
Racing over 5 ½ furlongs on the dirt, Gary Barber’s filly broke like a shot and pressed the early leader before making her own move to take command. She felt some pressure of her own after that but shook off the challenge as they entered the stretch.
The filly had a large lead going into the final furlong and was allowed to take it easier from there with her lead cut down to 1 ½ lengths at the line but never in serious danger.
Trained by Steven Miyadi, Into Classic is the winner of two of her four starts with victories on both the dirt and the synthetic.
Bred by Tolo Thoroughbreds and Scott Davidson, Into Classic is out of the stakes-placed Mischievous Misty. That mare is one of two stakes performers out of a half-sister to champion Kona Gold with the extended family also including Inside Information.
It was a successful Sunday for Classic Empire, who also had Classic Film finish second in a Gulfstream Park maiden later in the day.
