Just For Sul Romps Home For Second Victory

Just For Sul (3f Justify x Susie’s Baby, by Giant’s Causeway) was an impressive winner in Saudi Arabia on Saturday when the gray won by 13 ¾ lengths.

Racing close behind the first flight in the seven furlong dirt race, Just For Sul raced wide for much of the run to give her a perfect position to pass the field when she was ready. That moment came in the turn when Just For Sul glided past the field with next to no effort to be well in front by the time they hit the stretch.

Given a few taps of the whip in the stretch, the filly was well in front by the time they crossed the line without putting in her maximum effort.

Owned by Prince Sultan Bin Mishal Bin Aziz, Just For Sul was an $325,000 yearling purchase by On The Rocks Racing from Eaton Sales before going through the ring again as a 2-year-old. That time, Chad Schumer went to $800,000 to secure the Wavertree Stables consignment.

Bred by Diamond Creek Farm, Just For Sul is a half-sister to Uncle Mo’s Grade III winner and multiple Grade I placed Family Way and out of a half-sister to dual Grade I winner Caravaggio and Grade II winner My Jen.

Susie’s Baby also had an Uncle Mo filly in 2021.

It was a big Saturday internationally for Justify, with the stallion also having a juvenile stakes winner in Australia.
