Justify Colt Second Most Expensive at Fasig-Tipton July

Coolmore sires were responsible for the second highest priced yearlings of the Fasig-Tipton July Sale this week when Justify and Uncle Mo saw their colts sell for $400,000.

Offered by Gainesway as agent, the Justify colt out of Indygita was purchased for $400,000 by Golden Star Farm. He received an update after the catalog was released when his winning half-brother Justice Department placed in an Allowance on June 29 to make him an even more attractive offering.

Bred by Thor-Bred Stables, the Kentucky-bred’s dam was a six-time winner herself and is a half-sister to the stakes winner and Grade III-placed Lemoona. Hailing from the extended family of Grade I winner and champion sire Storm Cat, those named on the colt’s page include Grade I winners Crowded House, Ticker Tape, and Brando among the 17 stakes winners and six other stakes performers on the page.

The $400,000 colt comes on the heels of Justify’s European Champion 2-Year-Old Colt City of Troy winning his third Group I race in the Coral-Eclipse on Saturday.
