Justify Offerings Popular At Keeneland January

A mare carrying a foal by top sire Justify was in demand at the Keeneland January of Horses All Ages Sale this week when Whisper Hill Farm purchased Sebago Lake for $700,000.

Consigned by Eaton Sales, the Tapit mare is a half-sister to Uncle Mo’s Grade III winner and multiple Grade I-placed Family Way. They hail from Giant’s Causeway’s winning daughter Susie’s Baby.

Also the dam of Justify’s winning Just For Sul, Susie’s Baby is a half-sister to Scat Daddy’s Grade I winner Caravaggio and Fusaichi Pegasus’s Grade II winner My Jen. Sebago Lake foaled an Uncle Mo colt last year.

Justify was also the sire of a $400,000 yearling colt purchased by P B Bloodstock

Consigned by Conley Bloodstock, the colt is a half-brother to Uncle Mo’s Grade III-placed Conquest Babayaga and out of Undercover Justice. Also the dam of stakes-placed Sorrentina Lemon, Undercover Justice is a half-sister to Canadian champion Negligee and stakes placed Wild Notions. Their half-sister Naughty Mambo is the granddam of Grade I winner Olympic Jolteon among others.

Justify is coming off a banner year that saw him lead all North American sires by number of Grade I winners with six – including a pair of Eclipse Awards 2-Year-Old Filly finalists.
