Justify

Justify Represented By First Juveniles at OBS March

The first juveniles by undefeated Triple Crown winner Justify are set to go through the ring this week with four colts and a filly entered in the OBS March Two-Year-Olds In Training Sale.

The first through the ring is Hip 89, who breezed a :9.4 during the first day of the Under Tack Show on Thursday. Consigned by Eddie Woods and bred by DS Stable, the colt is out of the winning mare Runway Doll. That Majestic Warrior daughter already has a winner by another Triple Crown winner in American Pharoah’s Gianni Lambo.

Runway Doll is a half-sister to stakes winner Song Warrior, stakes placed Yessiremychickadee, and the dam of Grade II winner Conquest Panthera and Grade III winner Happy Like a Fool among others.

“The Justifys are way more precocious than I thought they would be. We have a Justify colt out of Runway Doll who is a lovely colt. He’s all quality and built like a tank,” Woods said.

Parrish Farms sends out a son of Dancinginherdreams as Hip 381 during the second day of the sale after the colt breezed just a tick off the quarter bullet when stopping the clock in :20.4 during the breeze show. Bred by John Oxley, the colt’s dam is a Grade II winner, one of two stakes winners and three stakes performers out of Mayan Milagra. Dancinginherdream’s stakes winning half-sister Doubled is the dam of stakes placed Honorifique while her winning sister Callmenancy produced Grade II winner Texas Wedge.

The only Justify daughter in this sale is another from Eddie Woods selling as Hip 462 after breezing in :10.1. Bred by Brinker Hill Farm, she is out of the Grade II-placed Glamorista. Her dam is already the dam of a stakes performer from her three to race in stakes-placed Hayworth.

Glamorista is also a half-sister to dual Grade I winner Critical Eye, who is a producer and producer of producers herself. Glamorista is one of five stakes producers or dams of stakes producers out of Critical Crew with another half-sister producing multiple Grade II winner Takeover Target.

“I have half a dozen Justifys that are all nice,” Woods commented. “They are big, strong horses and are good movers. They have that hardness that the Scat Daddys had.”

Niall Brennan sends out the last two Justifys of the sale in Hip 475, Prince of Justice and Hip 501, a colt out of I Bet Toni Knows.

Bred by Craig Singer Prince, Prince of Justice breezed in :10.0 and looks like another talented one for multiple stakes winner and stakes-producing Haddie Be Good. Haddie Be Good is also the dam of stakes winner Story to Tell and is a half-sister to stakes-placed Sixpack of Kings. This family also includes Grade 1 winners Sam’s Sister, Sweet Talker, Include Me Out, and Check the Label among others.

“I have several Justifys and so far I’m impressed and pleasantly surprised with how forward they are training. They are focused and energetic on the track,” Brennan said.

The last through the ring for Justify is Brennan’s Hip 501, a colt out of stakes winning I Bet Toni Knows. The colt’s dam has two winners from two to race, including this juvenile’s multiple graded stakes winning three-quarter sister Toinette.

I Bet Toni knows is also a half-sister to the stakes winning Possessed with their dam producing five winners from six to race. In all, the colt has seven stakes winners listed under his first four dams.

The two-session sale kicks off at 10:30 am on March 15 with the second session on Wednesday, March 16.
