Justify Still in Demand at Magic Millions
It was another strong session for Justify on Wednesday at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale when Mick Wallace bought his colt out of Lake Geneva for AU$600,000.
Consigned by Coolmore Stud, her is the third foal out of Fastnet Rock’s stakes winner and Group I Golden Slipper third Lake Geneva. Lake Geneva herself is out of the Group II winner Hips Don’t Lie, who has produced three stakes winners and four stakes horses overall by Fastnet Rock.
In all, there are nine stakes winners on the colt’s page and four other stakes performers.
Justify also saw Magic and Associates buy a AU$400,000 filly out of Movie Role and Ciaron Maher Bloodstock paid the same for a filly out of Now Now.
The stakes placed Movie Role is another by Fastnet Rock and is a full sister to Group I winner Irish Lights. Irish Lights produced Group II winner Omei Sword and Uncle Mo’s stakes winner Lipizzaner. This is a truly international family with those on her page winning stakes in Japan (including Champion 2-Year-Old Asia Express), the United States, New Zealand, and England.
Consigned by Silverdale Farm, Now Now’s filly is a half-sister to multiple group winner and Group I-placed Fiesta, and three other winners from five to race. Now Now is a half-sister to Rock of Gibraltar’s Group II-placed Rock Cocktail with the family also including four other stakes winners on the page.
Through two sessions, Justify’s first Australian yearlings have grossed AU$4,845,000 to put him fifth on the list. His average of AU$323,000 is sixth best of all sires with five or more sold in the sale so far. Others to sell by Justify so far this week include yearlings bringing AU$900,000, AU$450,000, AU$320,000, AU$300,000, etc.
