Kitten’s Waltz Continues Hot Streak For Air Force Blue
It was a Japanese winner on Saturday for Air Force Blue on Saturday when Kitten’s Waltz (3f Air Force Blue x Dance With Kitten, by Kitten’s Joy) broke her maiden in Japan.
Racing over 8 ½ furlongs on the dirt, Kitten’s Waltz was content to race in last for the first half of the running before working her way through the pack half way down the backstretch. When they entered the stretch, she was full of run and in a four-way battle for the lead with less than a length separating them. Finding another gear in the final sixteenth, Kitten’s Waltz stepped up the pace to put half a length between her and the second place runner in the end.
Trained by Shogo Yasuda for U Carrot Farm, Kitten’s Waltz was bred by the Shadai Corporation.
Kitten’s Waltz is the first foal out of the three-time winning Kitten’s Joy mare Dance With Kitten, a full sister to multiple Grade I winner Divisidero and Grade III-placed Kitten’s Kid.
Kitten’s Waltz is the fifth winner for Air Force Blue in less than a week and take his total to 23 winners overall – putting him in third among all second crop sires by winners.
