Lookin At Lucky’s Electric Light Adds Second Stakes Victory to Resume
It was a second stakes win for Lookin At Lucky’s Electric Light (3f Lookin At Lucky x Egocentrica, by Scat Daddy) on Monday in the Listed Clasico Geoffrey Bushell at Club Hipico.
The one-mile turf race saw Electric Light quickly take up a spot in second as another horse bolted for the lead and kept a length on the field early on. Rounding the turn, Electric Light made her way up to the leader and engaged in a duel as they entered the stretch.
She had to dig deep to put that one away but once she did, she had plenty left to build a lead and won by two lengths with the third placed runner nearly five lengths back.
Electric Light is a homebred for Haras Don Alberto, who has her in the barn of Patricio Baeza. The filly has won four of seven races with one other third place finish – that coming in another stakes.
Electric Light is the first foal out of Scat Daddy’s Egocentrica, who is a daughter of stakes performer Explainable. The winner’s third dam is dual Grade II winner Bank Audit, who was also fourth in a Grade I.
Electric Light is one of 10 stakes performers and six stakes winners for Lookin At Lucky out of Scat Daddy with the group led by Grade I winners El Picaro and La Canita.
A successful sire around the world, Lookin At Lucky has sired 74 stakes winners and 143 stakes performers led by 48 graded stakes winners. Among those winners is Grade I Kentucky Derby winner Country House and champion Accelerate.
