Lookin At Lucky’s Racatan Earns Another G3 Win
Lookin At Lucky’s Grade I winner Racatan (3c Lookin At Lucky x Magia Para Todos, by Rock of Gibraltar) led home a first-third finish in the Group III Clasico El Ensayo on Monday.
The 3-year-old settled in second for much of the 1 ½ mile turf race as another horse raced far in front of the field. That horse started to fade as the field entered the far turn and Racatan easily overcame the pacesetter to take command. Another horse pressured him down the stretch but Racatan kept him at bay throughout the run to win by three-quarters of a length with Lookin At Lucky’s Lukka in third.
The Vaquita Sabrosa representative was bred by Haras Don Alberto and recorded his fourth victory in seven starts in the race. He has won two Group I races among those and has never finished worse than third in his career with five of those runs coming in stakes.
Racatan is the first foal out of the Group III winner Magia Para Todos, who is one of four winners for her own dam. The family also includes champions Madame Victoire and Trotamondo and and Group III winner Negra Local.
Lookin At Lucky is the sire of eight worldwide stakes winners and 18 stakes performers in 2022, led by three Grade I winners and seven graded stakes winners.
