Luck Money (Lookin At Lucky) Wins The Zagora At Belmont Park

Luck Money 60th Stakes Winner for Lookin At Lucky

Luck Money (3f Lookin at Lucky x Flagrant, by Rahy) became Lookin At Lucky’s 60th stakes winner on Saturday with a victory in the Zagora Stakes at Belmont Park.

Racing over 1½ miles on the turf, the filly raced a few lengths off the leader to the outside of anther horse as they traded third and fourth throughout the race. As the field raced around the far turn, Luck Money started her move and was quickly a clear second before taking the lead within strides of straightening out for the final run.

The filly had to dig deep in the final sixteenth of a mile to hold off late charges from two rivals, flashing across the line a neck in front.

Never off the board in nine starts with $224,200 in earnings, Luck Money is trained by Arnaud Delacour for her owner-breeder Dr. Catherine Wills.

The filly is a three-quarter sister to Grade I winner Furthest Land and a half-sister to two other stakes horses with another half-sister producing Grade II winner Ready For Rye. Lucky Money’s dam Flagrant is also a half-sister to Grade III winner and Grade I-placed Dynever and to the granddam of American Pharoah’s Grade II Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint winner Four Wheel Drive.

In all, the stallion has sired 60 stakes winners, 37 worldwide graded stakes winners, 13 Grade 1 winners, and 109 stakes horses. Lookin At Lucky has continued his success through 2020 with 10 stakes winners and 18 stakes horses, led by six graded stakes winners this year.
