Lucky Move Wins Bay Ridge Stakes
It was a second straight stakes victory for Lucky Move (6m Lookin At Lucky x Quiet Mover, by Quiet American) on Sunday with a win in the Bay Ridge Stakes at Aqueduct.
Looking to avenge a nose loss in the race last year, the mare tracked the leaders in the 1 1/8 mile affair for much of the running. When piloted through a hole as they approached the final furlong, the Juan Carlos Guerrero-trainee got down to the dirty work to chase down last year’s winner. In the end, she reversed the result with a half length victory for Ten Strike Racing.
It was the third stakes victory in her last six starts for Lucky Move, who was bred in New York by Maltese Cross Stables and Stonegate Stables LLC.
The mare is one of two winners out of Quiet Move and added a seventh win to her own record to take her earnings to $429,759. Lucky Move also hails from the family of champion Islam and Grade I winner Hail A Cab.
Lucky Move is one of 10 worldwide stakes winners and 19 stakes horses for Lookin At Lucky in 2020 led by Grade I winner Toplucky.
