Majestic Gold Fourth Stakes Winner For Competitive Edge

Already a sire on fire, Competitive Edge registered his fourth stakes winner when Majestic Gold (2f Competitive Edge x Arta B Tappin, by Tapit) won the Listed Clasico Dia de la Raza in Puerto Rico.

Sitting in midpack throughout the early stages of the 6½ furlong race, Majestic Gold was second as the field entered the final furlong and made a late bid to close on stablemate Anat’s Vision in the closing strides.

Her victory provided a 1-2 finish for trainer Gaston Capote and G. R. C. Racing with Capote buying her earlier this year at the OBS June 2-Year-Olds Sale.

The stakes victory was her second win in a row after breaking her maiden last month. Majestic Gold earned her first stakes placing in her debut when third in the Listed Clasico Eduardo Cautino Insua in August.

Bred by Calumet Farm, Majestic Gold is out of stakes placed Arta B Tapin and from the family of Grade II winner Corby.

She is one of 14 winners for her sire Competitive Edge, who sits third on the First Crop Sire list. The stallion is tied for the most stakes winners of any freshman stallion with Fierce Lady, My Italian Rabbi and Sassy Seneca rounding out his four stakes winners.
