More Stakes Success for Verrazano Filly

Promising filly Seek and Destroy (3f Verrazano x Search and Seizure, by War Chant) added another Black Type win to her resume when taking out the $130,000 Grade III Ontario Colleen Stakes at Woodbine on Saturday.

The Chad Brown trained filly surged to the line from off the pace to win the one mile contest on turf by three lengths taking her overall record to four wins from seven starts with prizemoney topping $226,000.

“I just decided to stay right there, just right behind the speed,” said winning rider Luis Contreras. “I had so much horse all the way and she destroyed the field at the end.

A $425,000 Keeneland September Yearling, Seek and Destroy is now a multiple stakes-winner and is a three-quarter sister to Grade III winner Tammy the Torpedo and was the fourth highest priced yearling from the first crop of her sire.
