Munnings Daughter Registers Third Stakes Victory
Bryan Hawk homebred Take Me Serious (5m Munnings x Southern Equity, by After Market) registered her third career stakes victory on Friday night with a win in the Oklahoma Classics Distaff Sprint at Remington Park.
Second in her last two starts, the mare was ready to roll in this six-furlong run and entered a duel out of the gates. The other runner gave in quickly and Take Me Serious extended her lead to a length around the turn before drawing off in the stretch.
Entering the final furlong, she had three lengths on the field and added an extra half length to that at the line as the race favorite.
This was the sixth win and 13th top three finish in 15 starts for the Joe Offolter trained runner, whose placings include five at the stakes level.
Take Me Serious is one of three winners from four to race out of the stakes-placed Southern Equity. That mare is a half-sister to the stakes placed duo of Easy Crossing and Quick Witted among 10 winners out of multiple Grade III winner Humoristic.
Munnings is the sire of nine stakes winners and 21 stakes performers overall in 2024, led by the Grade I winning Howard Wolowitz.
