Neiman Second Stakes Winner of Weekend for Munnings
It was a new stakes winner for Munnings on Sunday when Neiman (4g Munnings x Tizacity, by Tizway) won the Budweiser Stakes at Emerald Downs.
The six furlong dirt race saw Neiman prompt the pace along with one other horse through the early stages. Around the turn, the runner in third dropped back so Neiman and the leader could battle it out and that’s exactly what they did.
When they hit the final eighth, Neiman was ready to take control and he did just that, pulling away to win by 1 ½ lengths at the line.
Trained by Justin Evans for Mike Abraham and Leslie and Pierre Jean Amestoy, Neiman has won four of his six starts with one other top three finish. This was the stakes debut for the gelding, who has now won two in a row.
Bred by Three Lyons Racing and HTH Enterprises, Neiman is one of two winners from three to race out of Tizacity. That mare is out of the stakes winning Vindy City, who is one of three stakes performers for her own stakes winning dam.
This is the second stakes winner of the weekend for Munnings, whose daughter Dancing Duchess won the Alywow Stakes on Saturday.
