New Grade One Winner for Lucky

A half-sister to Champion Chilean 3YO Filly and US Grade I winner Dacita, Dafonda (2f Lookin at Lucky x Daja, by Seeker’s Reward) looks set to follow in her older sister’s footsteps after taking out the Grade I Clasico Arturo Lyon Pena at Club Hipico de Santiago in Chile on Friday.

Trained by Juan Silva, she won the 1600 metre turf feature by two and a quarter lengths and has the overall record of three wins and two seconds from just five starts.

She is the second Grade I winner from blue hen Daja, who has left 10 winners headed by Dacita and Dafonda in addition to Grade III winner Dosificado and stakes-winner Lady Estefania.

Dafonda is the seventh Grade I winner for Lookin at Lucky and is one of 36 stakes-winners for the former Champion Two and Three Year Old.
