New Juvenile Stakes-Winner for Munnings

The winners keep coming for our exciting young sire Munnings with promising two year-old Barkley (2c Munnings x Numero d’Oro, by Medaglia D’Oro) landing a Black Type victory in the $50,000 Emerald Express Stakes on Sunday at Emerald Downs.

An easy debut winner at the same venue on June 20, the Howard Belvoir trained chestnut always travelled well and after finding the front in the straight held on strongly to win the six furlong contest by half a length.

A modest $21,000 Keeneland September Yearling Sale purchase, Barkley has won two from two and is the ninth stakes-winner for Munnings, who is the leading US Second Crop Sire by earnings and winners.

Barkley is the first winner for Numero D’Oro, an unraced daughter of stakes-winner Numero Uno.
