Mo D’Amour is Ninth Stakes-Winner for Uncle Mo
Promising filly Mo D’Amour (3f Uncle Mo x Neverthesame, by Scat Daddy) posted her first Black Type win when scoring a dominant victory in the $125,000 Busher Stakes at Aqueduct beating Dreams to Reality (3f Lookin at Lucky x Dream Sweeper, by Salt Lake) to give Ashford Stud sires the quinella.
The Todd Pletcher trained filly travelled smoothly in third place and accelerated down the running to win the 1 and 1/16th mile contest by two lengths.
"I thought it worked out perfect,” said Byron Hughes, assistant to Todd Pletcher.
“Chris [DeCarlo] did a good job getting her to the rail when the opportunity was present at the first turn and saved ground. Coming home he got her out just in time and it was nice. She seems to be maturing with the added experience from every race. I still think she got a little green when she got the lead kind of waiting but hopefully she can get better."
A $22,000 Keeneland September Yearling that made $75,000 when re-offered at the OBS March 2YO Sale earlier this year, Mo D’Amour runs for Ed Stanco’s King of Prussia Stable.
Mo D’Amour has the tidy record of three wins and a third from five starts with prizemoney nearing $150,000 and and is the first winner for Neverthesame, a daughter of English stakes-winner Salut D’Amour.
The ninth stakes-winner for her exciting young sire, Mo D’Amour combines the blood of two of the best sires on the Coolmore roster being by Champion First Crop Sire and Champion Sire of 2YO’s Uncle Mo from a daughter of ill-fated Scat Daddy.
Uncle Mo also featured with an impressive winner at Sam Houston Park with Tiffany Case (3f Uncle Mo x Biblical Point, by Point Given) going two for two with an easy fiev and a quarter length win in the five and half furlong allowance.
