Peace Messenger Impressive Winner for Air Force Blue
Peace Messenger (3c Air Force Blue x Peace Royale, by Sholokhov) was the latest impressive winner for his sire on Tuesday when breaking his maiden in France by eight lengths in his second start.
The one mile turf race at Compiegne saw the colt take cover right behind the leader from the start with Cristian Demuro aboard. He galloped comfortably around the course and made his move as the field entered the straight. He used the turn to draw even with the leader and as that one faded, pulled away.
Other horses attempted to catch the colt but it was no use with Peace Messenger continuing to show his best all the way to the line.
Trained by Waldemar Hickst for Dr. Christoph Berglar, Peace Messenger was bred in Kentucky by Narola, LLC and was purchased by Berglar as a weanling at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale for $140,000.
Peace Messenger is out of German champion Peace Royale, who has also produced Group III winner Peace In Motion and multiple stakes winner Peace Society with four winners from six to race. Peace Royale is also a half-sister to Group III winner and stakes producer Peaceful Love and stakes winner Penny Lane in addition to Galileo’s Group II-placed Phiz.
Air Force Blue is a top eight second-crop sire by both stakes performers and winners with 30 Northern Hemisphere winners and five stakes horses.
