Plum Sexy An Authoritative Winner for Munnings

Munnings started this week on a top note when Plum Sexy (2f Munnings x Purple Trillium, by Seeking the Gold) was an impressive debut winner at Santa Anita Park.

Racing over 5½ furlong on the turf, Plum Sexy was happy to run near the back of the field with just one beat five lengths off the leaders. Racing down the center of the track in the stretch, Plum Sexy left no prisoners when showing an outstanding turn of foot to blow past the field in the final furlong. Taking the lead late, the filly raced to a 3½ length victory in commanding style.

Bred by William D. Graham in Ontario, Plum Sexy is trained by Doug O’Neill for C T R Stables, Wonderland Racing Stables, Bob and Sheila Bambauer and Steve Rothblum.

A half-sister to Grade II-placed Seeking Albert and stakes-placed Rising Star, Plum Sexy is out of a winning daughter to Champion Turf Female Perfect Sting, who was also a three time Grade I winner. The mare was also the dam of Grade III winner Smart Sting and two other stakes horses with her grandson Doc Boy winning the Listed Columbia Stakes earlier this year.

Among the leading sire of juveniles this year, Munnings has already sired 12 2-year-old winners in 2020 led by stakes winner and Grade I-placed Alda and stakes-placed Vulcan.
