Justify Paddock 11

Prettiest Sells For $525,000 In Foal to Justify

A mare in foal to Justify was the second highest priced pregnant mare at the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale when Greenwell Thoroughbreds paid $525,000 for Prettiest.

Bred and raced by Coolmore and consigned by Eaton Sales, Prettiest is a Grade III-placed daughter of three-time Grade I-winning Galileo mare Alice Springs. That mare is the dam of two winners from three to race as one of two stakes producers for her own stakes placed dam Aleagueoftheirown. Alice Springs also has a placed Justify daughter in Fleetingly.

Aleagueoftheirown visited Galileo multiple times as a broodmare, also producing multiple Group II placed Criteria, Group III placed Kingston Jamaica, and stakes placed Hence and Crocodile Rock. Hence is the dam of Justify’s Group III-placed Gasper de Lemos in her own broodmare career.

Justify was also the sire of a $300,000 short yearling purchased by D.J. Stables with VBS as agent from Stoneriggs Farm.

The second foal out of Grade III winner Chart, she was the highest priced yearling filly of the sale alongside a Golden Pal filly.
