Regally Bred Classic Empire Colt Brings $285,000
A regally bred colt by Classic Empire was the latest big priced weanling for his sire when Hip 889 from Denali Stud sold for $285,000 to Empire Bloodstock from the Denali Stud consignment.
Bred by Team Valor out of Victory Party, the colt is half-brother to Australian Group II placed Victory Kingdom and three other winners from three to race.
Victory Party is a daughter of Broodmare of the Year Leslie’s Lady, making her a half-sister to four-time Champion Beholder, Grade I winner and Classic Empire’s fellow Coolmore America sire Mendelssohn, and Grade I winner Into Mischief in addition to two other stakes producers.
It has been a stellar sale for Classic Empire, whose first weanlings are averaging over nine times his stud fee from eight sold with a median of $202,500.
This is the first crop by the sire, who won Grade Is at 2 and 3 and was named Champion 2-Year-Old Colt at the conclusion of his juvenile season.
