Royal Luck Becomes Lookin At Lucky’s 15th Grade I Winner

It was another win for Lookin At Lucky’s Royal Luck (2c Lookin At Lucky x Starrily, by Southern Halo) in Chile when the juvenile colt added the Group I Clasico Alberto Vial Infante to his record.

Now four-from-four, the colt broke strongly in the one mile turf race before taking back to let two leaders duel open lengths in front of the field as he sat in fifth. That pair started to come back to the field with three furlongs left to run as Royal Luck started his march forward through the field.

Showing his professionalism, he easily navigated traffic to gallop away from the field to win by two lengths in the end.

It was the first Group I victory for Royal Luck, who is trained by Patricio Baeza for breeder Haras Matriarca. The juvenile has won group stakes in three of his four races.

Royal Luck is one of six winners from six to race out of Starrily, who is a full sister to multiple graded stakes winner Star Quality. That mare’s foals include U.S. stakes placed Herecomesbert and the dam of Scat Daddy’s stakes winner Savorita in addition to Lookin at Lucky’s own Group III placed Sakuroa.

Also in the family are Group I winners Venusino, Ofercido, and Schoolmistress.

One of 61 worldwide stakes winners for Lookin At Lucky, Royal Luck also became his 15th Group I winner with this victory to join a group that includes Accelerate, Country House, and Wow Cat.
